Our New Journey

After we adopted our daughter from Guatemala in 2007, we felt a burden on our hearts to go back and serve in the future.  For the past few years, we have waited and prayed.  Waited for His direction to be revealed and prayed for doors to open.  It is with great joy we share with our friends and family our journey and commitment to serve in Guatemala for two years.

Some of you have asked....What?  When?  Where?  How?  ARE YOU SERIOUS?

Yes, we are serious!  We will briefly answer the other questions:

What are we doing in Guatemala?  Jack will be serving with the building committee at Iglesia Del Camino.  This summer Jack spent a month working with both Guatemalans and mission teams building homes for local residents.

When?  We will go to Guatemala when Joseph is home (hopefully by summer 2013) and when we are funded.  Our goal is to be in Guatemala around January 2014.

Where?  Iglesia Del Camino is a bilingual church in La Antigua, Guatemala.

How?  How in the world are we taking 6 kids to Guatemala for two years?  Simply put, God called us and He is making the way.  We have total peace in bringing our family to Guatemala.  HIS peace.

Luke 2:10 - Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.

Thank you Lord for this great news - sending your Son as a Savior.  And thank you for the joy that comes with spreading the good news to all people! It is our desire to be His hands and feet and show the love of Jesus to Guatemalans.

Thank you friends and family who have followed our adoption blog for the past six years.  It is time to bring our faithful followers on this journey as well.  We will continue to update the adoption blog with any news of Joseph's journey to home, in addition to updating this new blog. Thank you!
